OUR STORY

A Lá Tonks Productions was founded in Sweden in 2014 as a contemporary circus company. Since then, it has evolved and relocated to Manchester, UK, where it now specializes in video and film production.

 Tonks became a freelancer at the age of 14 and is an innovative in the Swedish circus industry. While trained in traditional European circus, she was on the forefront of implementing and experimenting with narrative storytelling for circus. Her first shows included voice-overs and lyrical scripts. This work has inspired what is today the centre of A la Tonks Productions. The strong narrative focus mixed with movement, brands or products.

Though our medium has shifted from performance to filmmaking, the heart of our style remains unchanged. Our work still draws inspiration from the mystical, raw energy of the circus, seen in our pacing, visual rhythm, and deep connection with the audience.

At the centre of it all is Tonks, our founder and creative force. With a rare gift for narrative and visual language, she brings a storyteller’s instinct to every frame. For her, stories aren’t just told through words, but through movement, imagery, and mood.
